Celtic designs
based on Pictish art (the early inhabitants of what is now Scotland
were called “Picti” by the Romans) inspired the delightful and
unusual projects featured in this beautifully illustrated book.
The projects are arranged according to difficulty, starting with
the easier projects and gradually building up to more challenging
projects for experienced woodworkers. Each project has easy-to-follow,
step-by-step instructions as well as all the information needed
to complete the project, including details of tools and materials
and trace-off project designs for the reader to enlarge. In addition,
the author provides information about the original artwork, often
stone carving, on which the design for the project is based. The
twenty projects described include: book box, picture frame, lovelight,
bulletin board, egg cabinet, celtic cross, mantel clock, solitaire
board, angel box and more. This unique collection serves as both
an assortment of project ideas and a wonderful introduction to
celtic design.
